• Why is this Profile being registered ?
          This profile is being taken to develop a central database of all the students of IET, Lucknow. The Training and Placement office(TPO) requires the data of students in various forms to send it to many companies in format required by them. This data is required by companies inviting students for third year training and companies coming for placement of final year students.
         By taking profiles via a web-based system, the TPO is doing away with the manual processing and disbursing of huge amount of data that is sent every now and then. Also, we'll be able to generate various placement statistics for various years and have them for our record and also for display at the placement site.
        The mantra is "Go Online..."
  
  
• What if I don't register or miss the registration process ?
         
  • Your data won't reach companies.
  • Your details won't be there on the placement site.
  • Companies searching our database for recruitment purposes won't find your details.
    
  • Final Year students (currently third year) who fail to register won't be allowed to appear in any company coming for placements.
    
    
• What after I have registered the profile ?
          After your profile has been successfully registered, make sure to search it via the profiles search system on the website to ensure that its there in correct batch and other details are correctly reflecting.
          The process doesn't ends here. You will have to keep updating your profile as and when results of various semesters are announced so that you have a updated profile on website. The data of those students who don't have a updated profile will not be sent to companies and will be filtered automatically by the web-system.
         Also, make sure that you keep updating your 'ever-changing' mobile numbers at the site.
  
  
• What other things do I have to keep in mind ?
            Do go thru the following points very carefully before filling the profile...
  
  • Be careful while entering your Roll No. and Passout Year. Barring your Roll. No. and Passout year, you'll be able to edit each and every field of your profile by providing the password at any given time.
  • Give the Email-id which you access frequently.
  • Contact Number:  Its very essential for the TPO to have your contact number. At many times, you'll need to be contacted immediately. For this purpose please give your personal mobile number if you have a mobile. In case you don't have a mobile number, give your home landline number. Hostel Numbers are strictly not permitted. 
    You have a option to keep your phone no. un-disclosed... in such a case, it won't be visible in your profile on the website.
  • For the semesters you haven't appeared yet (or marks of them haven't been declared) put 0 as the semester percentage. 
  • Password :  Again a very important issue. You'll require your password whenever you wish to update/change your profile. Please make sure you provide a password that you don't forget in future. As of now, there's no automated password recovery system at the site. We cannot tell your password back to you since its stored as a encrypted string in the database.
    In case you forget your password, we'll have to issue a new password to you and that would be a tedious process for us. Please save us from that ;-)
    
    
• What are the last dates to submit profiles ?
           Following are the year wise last dates to register your profiles. 

               Please ensure you and your friends positively fill the form before the respective deadlines.

              TPR's may ensure that the local students are made aware of this. Over the past 2 years, many localites have missed this exercise and have suffered a lot.

Finally you can proceed to fill up the form and be a part of the largest data collection activity of the institute...
